  Fall 2006 "Boating" Classes schedule of events stratfordcps

PCOC (Boating License), two courses scheduled each over two evenings at Zehr's Community Room from 6:30-9:00pm. First course Wednesdays Sept 27 and Oct 4. Second course Wednesdays November 7th and 14th.

GPS Course (Global :Positioning System), four evenings from 7:00 - 9:00pm at Zehr's Community Room, Tues. October 10, Wed. October 18, Tues. October 24, Wed. November 1.

Seamanship Sail - Up to 10 evenings - Proposed to start Thursday Oct 19 through to Dec 14 at Northwestern.

VHF Course (Marine Radio) with DSC endorsement, three evenings from 7:00 - 9:00pm at Zehr's Community Room, Wednesdays November 8, 15 and 22.

Boating Course, 10-12 weeks, postponed until January 2007

Marine Maintenance - tentativley scheduled for 2007. This is a good course for all purpose general maintenance around your boat. Lot's of do-it-yourself information.

 

Courses in Boating

VHF

This course includes the DSC (Digital Selective Calling) component for those new radios with the "red" buttons. This is a great new safety feature available to us and is important for you to know about. If you already have your VHF certificate, you need to get the DSC endorsement to take advantage of this added safety. Call Rand at 393-5534 for details

Boating License (Pleasure Craft Operator Card or PCOC)

This is the minimum training recommended to obtain your Operator Card (Boating license or PCOC). Call Robert Paton 595-4916 or Flona 273-6120 for details.

Operator Card for Kid's (ages 10-15)

Boatwise (PCOC for kids), our course for children 10 and over. Passing students will received their operator cards - Good for Life!!!!
